Odd Little Poem

Apple bees and honey trees, sugar from the earth.

If you see what I see, then you know you’ll never be hurt.

Netella trees and Rice Crispy dreams leave my stomach in a twirl.

Melon seeds and poppy leaves, tell me how it works.

I see the need and have the dream, to help you with your cause;

But lazy deeds and ills conceived, trap life in its work.

Dirty brushes comb tangled hair, the pain is at the root.

But root canals and funny sounds, have nothing to do with earth.

A Woman’s Strength

What makes a woman strong?

Is it her ability to put up with horrible conditions or her ability to recognize she deserves better and to leave the horrible situation?

I would think it is that latter, but I often hear, “She’s so strong to stay with him.”

I guess I thought we got past that kind of thinking back in the 80s and 90s.
